Senior Parent Night
All senior parents and guardians are invited to attend Senior Parent Night on Tuesday, September 21 at 6:00 p.m. This year’s program will be fully VIRTUAL. After a brief welcome session, families will choose up to three breakout sessions to learn more about: apprenticeship, military enlistment, applying to a two-year college (NOVA), applying to a four-year college, and/or financial aid. We will also host this program in Spanish on the same evening. Meeting link will be emailed to all seniors and their families at 3:00PM the day of the event. Full schedule is here.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night is tonight, September 8. Information is available by clicking on this announcement.
Fairfax County Public Schools to Host Virtual Job Fair
FCPS will conduct interviews with candidates at a Virtual Job Fair on Friday, September 24. FCPS is searching for individuals to serve as student monitors and school public health/COVID case managers.
FCPS to Require Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination for Athletic Participation
Beginning November 8, FCPS will require proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for any student participating in Virginia High School League (VHSL) winter and spring sports for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will also be required for participation in any other activity that requires a physical. This includes dance team and step team, as well as out-of-season practices and workouts.
Anticipated Bus Delays
Due to the bus driver shortage, we will be increasing “double back” bus runs, meaning a bus is required to run two scheduled routes back to back that would normally have been covered by two separate buses. These “double backs” may impact delivery time to schools or bus stops and may have a domino effect, affecting after-school drop-off times.
Required School Immunization Appointments Available
Documentation of immunization is required for students entering kindergarten, 7th grade, 12th grade, and for new students transferring into FCPS. Now is the time to schedule a free appointment through the Fairfax County Health Department for your child's immunizations.
There is now a new Emergency Broadband Benefit available to eligible households through the Federal Communications Commission. This is a temporary benefit that will help to lower the cost of internet broadband service during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Find out more.
