End of Year SMARTR Outcome

By June 2021, the percentage of students at Hayfield Secondary School, who are identified in the Students with Disabilities gap sub-group and who achieve a passing score, will increase by 5% asmeasured by the State of Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Math Assessments.

Strategy 1

Students will engage in real-world problem-solving skills and student-centered learning activities in order to be prepared for life skills outside of Hayfield Secondary School. In middle school, all students will take the County Math Inventory Test. This is administered in the fall of 2020 and will provide useful data lacking due to not being able to take the SOL’s in the Spring of 2020. It is scored by grade level and computer adaptive.

Strategy 2

Students who have been identified as needing additional support in mathematics will be identified and will participate in intervention courses and activities.

Strategy 3

Students with disabilities will receive high quality, differentiated instruction.

By June 2021, the pass rate percentage of students identified in the Students with Disabilities gap sub- groups at Hayfield Secondary School, will increase by 5% as measured by the State of Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) English Reading and Writing Assessments.

Strategy 1

Students will engage in reading, writing, and student-centered learning activities in order to be prepared for life skills outside of Hayfield Secondary School.

Strategy 2

Students who have been identified as needing additional support in English will be identified and/or participate in intervention courses.

Strategy 3

Middle School and high school students will be provided four rigorous writing opportunities to prepare

and strengthen their writing skills and readiness for high school.

 

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

We will continue to grow our Young Scholars team of teachers, continue to develop outside partnerships/experiences for our students and improve our collaboration with Student Services.

Strategy 1

Inform, Identify & Recognize: Students, families, and teachers will continue to be informed about the mission, qualifications, and membership process for the Young Scholars Program.

Strategy 2

Support Student Success: Students receive additional support through placement in an enrichment SOAR class and mentorship from Young Scholar Mentor Teachers

Strategy 3

Enroll:  Students will be informed through their course selection conversations with counselors, teachers, mentors and peers what classes are available and will be encouraged to select advanced academic classes if they are prepared for the challenge.
