The “Embracing our Culture” event was hosted at Hayfield Secondary School on the evening of April 6. The show featured cultural dance, a fashion show, and mini-dramas hosted and performed exclusively by Ethiopian-Eritrean high school students. The event’s mission was to encourage and motivate Ethiopian-Eritrean youth to embrace their culture and to create an engaging platform to increase awareness of the Ethiopian-Eritrean culture within our schools and community in Northern Virginia and the surrounding areas. The Hayfield Secondary School PTSA sponsored the event, which was organized by a volunteer group of parents with a vision and desire to create a memorable cultural event that is led by and performed by high school students.
