2021 Governor’s School Applications
The 2021 Governor’s School Applications are available! Governor's School is a month-long residential program at a state university for current 10th and 11th grade high achieving students in Virginia.

Student Rights and Responsibilities
The Student Rights and Responsibilities (http://bit.ly/fcpssrr) document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable and supportive school environment.

• After reviewing the information, fill out the SR and R Parent Acknowledgement Form by clicking on this announcement. The form must be filled out 1 time per student.
Thomas Jefferson High School Admissions
Based upon the School Board Work Session discussion on October 6, the school board consensus was that testing (Quant-Q, ACT Aspire Reading and Science) will be eliminated for this year, the application fee will be eliminated and there will be an increase in student enrollment at TJHSST. We do not have a window for the application process as this time. The next scheduled School Board Work Session to discuss additional changes is currently set for November 17.
AP Information Night
Did you miss Hayfield High School's first ever, digital AP Information Night. Click on this announcement for a link to the recorded session and the slides that accompanied it. The meeting covered AP exams and test fees, lessons learned from last year, AP classes offered at Hayfield, the benefits of taking AP classes, managing advanced academic classes, AP vs IB and the AP Capstone Program. Summer Residential Governor’s School Programs
The Summer Residential Governor's Schools (SRGS) are month-long residential programs for current year tenth- and eleventh-grade gifted students in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The 2021 Visual and Performing Arts Summer Residential Governor’s School programs include: Dance, Instrumental Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music. The 2021 Academic Summer Residential Governor’s School will offer programs in Medicine and Health Sciences, Mathematics, Science, and Technology, Marine Science, Humanities, Engineering, and Agriculture.
Student Health and Safety Guidance
Consistent with Governor Northam’s phased reopening plan for Virginia schools, and guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has provided guidance to staff regarding school health practices for students.
No-Cost Meals for All FCPS Students through June 30, 2021
Grab and Go service hours are 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Bus routes for food distribution are operating Monday through Friday. Breakfast and lunch will be available at no-cost Monday-Friday at all schools with in-person instruction. Specific information about meal distribution locations and bus distribution schedules are available.
