The Hawk Writing Center is a tutoring service program that works to assist students with writing stretched across all disciplines, regardless of where the student may be within the writing process. 

Whether the student hasn’t begun the piece or may need a simple review before submitting an assignment, the Hawk Writing Center is ready to assist any student who walks within her doors with their given assignment. 

Most renowned for our service in AP work, the tutors of our center carry special expertise and experience in working on subjects that are particularly heavy on writing, such as AP United States History, AP World History: Modern, AP Comparative Government and Politics, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Capstone (AP Seminar & AP Research), etc. 

Outside of our daily tutoring services brought out by scheduled appointments or walk-in sessions, our center is consistently active in carrying out events hosted to target specific writing disciplines, such as writing workshops or tutoring camps. 

Examples of these in the past have included our College App Camps directed towards seniors working toward applying for undergraduate studies and AP workshops responsible for preparing students for AP exams in the spring of each year. As of our most recent 2022 College App Camp, we even had accomplished guests ready to directly aid students with professional advice, guests including Hayfield’s College & Career Specialist, Amy Ferguson, and the Associate Director of Admissions of Gettysburg College, Maddie Wonder. 

Located in room 2445, we are holding synchronous sessions in person (6th period during A, C, and D lunch & Learning Seminar 13) and asynchronous sessions virtually, from Monday through Friday. Asynchronous sessions are overall focused on revision-making and will be held after school via virtual tutoring Monday through Friday with a 72-hour turn-around period.
