Join us for the Hayfield Dramahawks spring performance of 'Newsies'! Performances will be held in the Hayfield Secondary auditorium on May 2, May 3, May 4, May 9, May 10, and May 11 (7 p.m. all dates) as well as a matinee on May 11 at 2:00 p.m.

The Hayfield It's Academic Team competed against George Marshall High School and Blake High School on Saturday, January 12. Thanks to the band, cheerleaders and Hayfield Hawk for coming out to support the team. The TV show will be broadcast on NBC4 on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30AM.

On Thursday, October 25, author Jennifer Swanson visited Hayfield to talk to students taking AP Environmental Science, Honors Geosystems, and Creative Writing. Twenty four lucky students won autographed copies of her book Geoengineering Earth's Climate. The visit and prize books were sponsored by The Nature Generation.

To help launch the opening of the Hayfield Library Makerspace, the library hosted a spooky event during SOAR 4 on Monday, October 22nd--Frankentoys! Students came to the library to unmake and remake toys in new and inventive ways. Each student chose whether to keep his or her monstrous creation.

Congratulations to English Teacher Brian Hannon, Special Education Teacher Cece Lamoreau, Student Services Assistant Martha Campbell, Administrative Assistant Anita Mitchell, School Counselor Meredith Ayala who were recognized at the 2018 FCPS Honors Ceremony!

On Wednesday, May 2, the PTSA celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week by hosting a catered luncheon with homemade desserts and raffle prizes.

Congratulations to Jennifer Nelson, Elizabeth Matthews, and Madison Talbot. They represented Hayfield Secondary in the Northern Virginia Regional FBLA Competition in March, where they placed 1st - outranking all the other FCPS HS teams. 

Hayfield had 2 projects place in the overalls at the State Science Fair Competition! The team of Miamar Burgos-Rosario, Sarah Syed and Saijai Supanklang placed third overall for their project “Cyanofertilization: A compariative Analysis of Biological and Environmental Impacts,” and David Toomer won first place, (Grand Prize !), for his project, “Augmenting Gaseous Adsorption Capabilities via Nanoporous Cyclodextrin Metal-Organic Frameworks (CD-MOF) Synthesized with Alkali Coordinating Ions.”

Pictures from the first Annual Spanish Honor Society International Potluck. Students prepared dishes from countries all over the Western Hemisphere and competed to win prizes for best main dish, best appetizer, and best dessert. We had a dance floor and students learned some salsa and bachata moves!
